I’m doing research for an upcoming MacLife column. As far as I can tell, Apple has removed all Facebook and Twitter buttons from its product and store pages.

(In case you don’t know: those social sharing buttons allow their respective social networks to track you around the web, even if you don’t use the buttons, even if you opted out, even if you aren’t logged in or don’t have an account in the first place.)

I definitely remember seeing the buttons appear quite some time ago, as I remember joking about them on the socials. But it seems that, now that it has doubled down on its stance on personal privacy, Apple wiped the buttons from its site.
