If you subscribe to a lot of sites in Google Reader, the unread count badges next to feeds, folders, and tags either become meaningless cruft or pressure for an unobtainable “inbox zero” goal. Fortunately, you can turn off the unread count from the Subscriptions menu. This toggle only works across your entire account, however, and is not available on a per-feed or per-folder basis.
