On your iPad, go to Settings > General and scroll down a little. Enable Multitasking Gestures.

Now you can do some slick stuff for getting around your iPad:

  • When in any app, put five fingers on the screen and clasp them together, as if your hand is the claw in that restaurant stuffed animal machine. That gets you back to the home screen

  • In any app, put four fingers on your display and swipe to the left. That switches you to the second most recently used app. Swipe to the right to go back to the app you started in, but keep swiping to the left to move through the list of apps you used recently

  • With four fingers, swipe up at any time to reveal the Multitasking Bar. This shows you the apps you used most recently. Tap any of them to switch to it
