If you add a Quick Event to Calendar (formerly iCal) in Mountain Lion with the right name, Calendar will automatically assign it a time. For example, a “lunch” event gets 12pm, “breakfast” gets 9am, and “dinner” gets 8pm.
To be clear: Calendar’s Quick Event tool is the plus button on the left of the window bar, next to the Calendar button.
