If your browser crashes while editing a WordPress post or you run into a similar problem, WordPress will let you know there’s an autosave available and prompt you to use its revision comparison tool. Just be careful which revisions you compare.

If you take WordPress up on its offer, you’ll see the latest saved version of the post before WordPress noticed changes were being made, and a list at the bottom of revisions on file. You can toggle the “old” and “new” options, then click “compare revisions” to do just that.

If you make the mistake I just did of comparing the same two revisions (you set the “old” and “new” options on the same revision), WordPress will fake a self destruction, reboot, inform you that the Matrix has taken its hold, and warn you not to do that again.
