Pocket, a media-rich read later app for iPhone and iPad, lets you send articles, photos, and videos directly to your friends’ Pocket accounts.

When you want to share something with a friend, you can search for them by name or email. Your friend can receive a Push Notification and an email if they have those settings enabled, and Pocket’s share menu will keep your most recent friends around for quick access. Articles shared with you end up in a new inbox in Pocket, where you decide to save or discard them.

Interestingly, when Pocket announced this feature, it noted that its users share links via email more than twice as much as social media. This new sharing feature simplifies  the process by sidestepping email altogether and keeping friends just a tap away.
