In OS X Mavericks, Apple added more control over Do Not Disturb and brought the scheduling feature over from iOS (it now has a dedicated tab in System Preferences > Notification Center). You can now set daily times to toggle DND and adjust other behavior, such as hiding all notifications when morning to a projector or TV, allowing FaceTime calls from certain groups of people, and more.
